Loretta Schneider (1937-2024)

Loretta Schneider, Emporia, Kan., died Nov. 28, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor. She was 86 years old.

Loretta was born on Dec. 21, 1937, in Stafford, Kan., the daughter of Clifford and Adaline (Rush) Beagley. She married Vincent Schneider at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Emporia on May 4, 1957. He died on Aug. 2, 2020.

She is survived by sons Daniel (Janet) Schneider, Olpe, Kan., and Darrell (Sherry) Schneider, Olpe; daughters Dianna (Steve) Zimmerman, Hutchinson, Kan., Darlene Martin and significant other Mike Goodeyon, Madison, Kan., Debra (Dale) Burenheide, Olpe and Donna (Rick) Riessen, Joliet, Ill.; brothers Roy Beagley, Geneseo, Kan.; Larry Beagley, Ellsworth, Kan., and James (Charlotte) Beagley, Tenn.; sister Louise Johnson, Hutchison; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Lois Beagley, husband Vincent Schneider and grandson Brent Schneider.

Loretta was a nurse for over 20 years at St. Mary’s Hospital, Emporia. After that, she worked as a bus driver and a daycare provider.

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Choir and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.

Cremation is planned. The Rosary will be recited Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 306 Iowa St., Olpe, KS 66865. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe. Inurnment will take place following the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 1145 Road 75, Olpe.
