The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team played against the Goodland Cowboys in first-round substate semifinal play Thursday, March 6, losing 45-26 and knocking them out of the tournament.

Bearcat girls head to postseason action

The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team played against the Sacred Heart Knights Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Ellsworth’s Senior Night, and won 38-25. With the win, the team nabbed the NCAA League title, marking their first league championship since 1998. The Bearcats share the League title with Southeast of Saline.

RUSSELL — The Ellsworth girls’ wrestling team competed at the KSHAA 3-2-1 A Regional West Tournament in Russell Feb. 14-15 where they placed 24th out of 30 teams and advanced senior Riley Rodriguez and sophomore Sophie Homolka to the state tournament.
