Historical society plans annual meeting Feb. 6
Writer Beccy Tanner will present the program — “Dirt, Grit & Jell-o Salad. How We Survived the Great Depression” — Sunday, Feb. 6, at the annual meeting of the Ellsworth County Historical Society.
The 2 p.m. program at the Ellsworth Senior Center is open to the public at no charge.
Tanner worked for the Salina Journal and later for many years at the Wichita Eagle, where she often wrote about historic buildings and other stories of the state’s people and past.
Her Ellsworth appearance is sponsored by a grant from Humanities Kansas.
Also on the agenda will be the introduction of board members and the recognition of Historian of the Year.
