City of Wilson Public Hearing for Community Development Grant

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The City of Wilson will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 20, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall, 2407 Avenue E, Wilson, KS, for the purpose of considering an application to be submitted to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Grant funds under the Housing Category.  A specific project application to be discussed is housing rehabilitation and demolition.  All work will be done within an area bounded on the South of 27th Street going East to the City Limits of Wilson, going North to the City Limits of Wilson going West to the City Limits, back South to the point of beginning. The project will consist of rehabilitation of 8 homes which may be occupied by owners or renters and demolition of 4 vacant dilapidated structures.  The estimated project cost is $311,750 with the grant request for $300,000 of the project cost.  The additional funds will come from local matching funds.  Other project proposals introduced at the hearing will be considered.  Oral and written comments will be recorded and become a part of the City of Wilson CDBG Citizen Participation Plan.  Reasonable accommodations will be made available to persons with disabilities.  Requests should be submitted to the City Clerk by noon on July 17, 2020.
