Willis C. Schultz (1937-2024)

Willis C. Schultz, 87, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at his home in Ellsworth, Kan. He was born May 28, 1937, in Ellsworth to Gerhardt and Lucina (Schwerdtfeger) Schultz. Willis was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth, where he married Fern Nienke on June 14, 1959. Willis was a longtime member of the Ellsworth Fire Department and Immanuel Lutheran Church. He operated the feed mill at Ellsworth Coop and was also the office manager.

Willis is survived by his wife Fern, Ellsworth; sons Roger Schultz, Ellsworth, and Rob Schultz (Keith Haskamp), Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren Melissa Vongphakdy (Long) and Andy Schultz (Lynsey); great-grandchildren Jazlynn and Owen Schultz and Vincent and Donovan Vongphakdy; brother Donald Schultz (Pat), Topeka, Kan.; and sister Gloria Krob, Fort Collins, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant great grandson Chaunchai; sisters Faye Herlan and Hazel Bruning; and daughter-in-law Peggy Schultz.
Visistation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with burial following at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
