Keith A. Vehring (1949-2024)

Keith A. Vehring, 75, of Ellsworth, Kan., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024. He was born on Aug. 4, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Robert and Maudie (Kendrick) Vehring. On Jan. 19, 1974, he married his beloved wife, Bobbie Halverson, in Milwaukee.

Keith was a hardworking and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His passion for sports was evident in his love for playing and watching various games. An avid fan of NASCAR, he spent countless weekends cheering for his favorite drivers. Keith was also a lifelong supporter of the Green Bay Packers, never missing a game. His hobbies included woodworking and nurturing his yard.

A committed member of the Assembly of God Church, Keith’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He dedicated many hours to studying the Bible, and, alongside Bobbie, felt called to help those in need by supporting various charities. He was particularly proud of his involvement with Compassion International, helping provide opportunities for children worldwide and embodying his belief in the power of love and support.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Vehring; daughters Kile Eikel (Clint), Lenexa, Kan., Jennifer Stockton, Overland Park, Kan., and Kristin Ward (Joseph), Ellsworth; grandchildren Trevor Stockton, Adam Ward (Kelsey) and Maddison Ward; and great-grandchildren Weston and Ryker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob Vehring.
